King of Clay – Rafael Nadal
May 29, 2006 at 11:25 pm (Sports)
Second seed Spaniard Rafael Nadal beat Robin Soderling in his first round match at French Open and recorded his 54th consecutive win on clay. He had equalled Guillermo Vilas’s record of 53 consecutive wins by beating Roger Federer in Rome.
It was exciting to watch Nadal in this match. He looks in good shape to win the French Open title this year. He is no doubt ruling on the clay surface as of now. Nadal has achieved all this at the age of 20. I think he still has long way to go and who knows we may see lots of other record on clay courts be rewritten.

Surprise Surprise Brian White is in office today
May 13, 2006 at 3:43 am (General)
Brian White whom we used to watch in Energizer videos is in office today on a saturday and I am the only person from my team working. He is technical program manager in our Mountain View office. It is so exciting to have him here. We were expecting him on Monday but he is here today working in office on the other side of my desk. I showed him the hyderabad office and he was so excited to see the colors, break out area, massage chair, bean bags, cafeteria and the outside view. He looked very impressed. We discussed few things about the team and he also told me about the purpose of his visit to hyderabad. He sat near my desk and explained an example related to our work. He also told me how we as a team are a making a difference or contributing to the company. He saw all the pictures on my desk and I briefed him about Charminar. He was surprised to know that charminar is a 400 year old monument. I am proud that he saw my blog and appreciated it.
I am very much looking forward to his meetings. I am sure we can learn many things from him that would really help us a lot in our job.
This is a one of the memorable day in my life for sure. I hope he enjoys his visit here in hyderabad and accomplishes all his tasks.
Charminar – Hyderabad’s Pride
May 10, 2006 at 3:59 am (Hyderabad News)
Above pictures were captured by my Cell Phone Camera. The monument looked so spectacular and beautiful that i could not stop myself from taking a picture of it and then blogging it. I have mentioned a brief history of charminar below. Please feel free read it.
Charminar is a monument located in the City of Hyderabad (also known as City of Pearls) which is the capital city of the State of Andhra Pradesh in South India.
The Charminar (Urdu: “Four Minars”) monument, built in the center of Hyderabad by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah of Qutb Shah Dynasty who ruled from Hyderabad in 1591 as a commemoration of the eradication of a plague.
Legends tell that the emperor Quli Qutb Shah prayed for the end of plague and took the vow to build a mosque on that very place. He ordered the construction of the mosque which became popular as Charminar because of its four characteristic minarets. The top floor of the four-storeyed structure has a mosque which has 45 covered prayer spaces and some open space to accommodate more people in Friday prayers.
The Charminar is a beautiful and impressive square monument, with each side measuring 20 m, and each of the edges having a pointed high minaret. It derives its name from these four gracefully carved minarets which soar to a height of 48.7 m above the ground, commanding the landscape for miles around. Charminar literally means ‘Four Minars’. Each minaret has four storeys, each looking like a delicately carved ring around the minaret. Every side opens into a plaza through giant arches, which overlook four major thoroughfares and dwarf other features of the building except the minarets. Each arch is 11 m wide and rises 20 m to the pinnacle from the plinth. The monument overlooks a mosque Once upon a time each of these arches led to four royal roads. Each of the four arches has a clock which were put up in 1889.
There are two galleries within the Charminar, one over another, and above those a terrace that serves as a roof, bordered with a stone balcony. It is vaulted underneath and appears like a dome. There is a large table raised seven or eight feet
from the ground with steps to go up to it. Nothing in the town seems so lovely as the outside of that building. A thriving market still lies around the Charminar attracting people and merchandise of every description. In its heyday, the Charminar market had some 14,000 shops, a unique conglomeration of a grand oriental bazaar. The whole market around the Charminar is crowded with shops which sell glass bangles in rainbow colours.
The Charminar looks spectacular particularly in the nights when it is illuminated (as you can see it in the picture). This graceful monument is very beautiful on the inside as well.

Diet to Lose weight Fast
May 1, 2006 at 9:29 pm (Health and Fitness)
First thing in the morning:
Prepare your two cleansing drinks, the Master Cleanse and the Liver Flush (which, together, will help rid your liver and kidneys of built up toxins). Mix each in a blender for 20 to 40 seconds, and strain if desired.
The Master Cleanse:
Juice of 1 lemon;
32 ounces of spring water;
1 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup or honey;
1 pinch ground clove or 1/2 teaspoon of whole clove
The Liver Flush:
1/2 of a peeled lemon;
2 peeled oranges;
1 oz. olive oil;
3 sprigs parsley;
1 pinch ginger, black pepper, cayenne and ground clove
Once both drinks are prepared:
1) Drink the entire Liver Flush
2) Then drink 8 ounces of Master Cleansers
3) Take 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C
4) Take 100 milligrams of Magnesium
(Sip the remaining Master Cleanser throughout the day)
Mid-morning snack:
Nosh on 5 to 10 raw almonds and half of an apple or pear.
Thirty minutes before lunch:
Drink 8 ounces of fresh juice — 80 percent vegetable juice, 20 percent fruit juice. Take another 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C and 100 milligrams of Magnesium.
Lunch:
Have a big vegetable salad, with dark greens, and four ounces of fish or chicken. For a quick, healthy dressing, mix lemon juice and olive oil.
Afternoon snack:
Eat another 5 to 10 raw almonds and half of an apple or pear. (Or skip the fruit in favor of 1 cup sliced carrots, cucumbers or celery.)
Thirty Minutes Before Dinner:
Drink eight more ounces of juice (keep the ratio 80 percent veggie to 20 percent fruit). Take one more round of supplements: 1,000 milligrams vitamin C and 100 milligrams of magnesium.
Dinner:
Eat another big vegetable salad with dark greens. (No red peppers or tomatoes!) If you’re still hungry, have more juice and 5 to 10 more almonds.
Well I know it is very difficult to follow this diet but if we follow at least half of what is mentioned above. I reckon would definately make a difference.
Rang De Basanti – The Movie
May 1, 2006 at 4:17 am (Movies)
Watched “Rang De Basanti” this weekend. This movie is no doubt awesome. Music from maestro A R Rahman is too good. After watcing the movie I was like thinking What I have done to my country till date?? I was infact feeling Guilty thinking that I have taken independence for granted. The facts shown in the movie correct to a large extent.
All these years of my life just passed by. Enjoyed my university and school days. And once was out of education Job hunt started and then responsibilities came in. Found no time for the country. When I was in school at least used to pay respects on Independence & Republic days. But nothing of that sort. I think every one of us have moral responsibility of making our country a better place. These words are so easy to write but so difficult in real life. But definately one day I will contribute towards the development and betterment of my country in some way or other. Hope that day comes soon
